1957 Gibson Les Paul Custom 3-Pickup
Summary: With its elegant lines and Ebony/Pearl/Gold aesthetic, the 1957 Les Paul Custom is easily one of the most iconic and beautiful guitars ever made. It features a body carved out of a single piece of solid mahogany, unique among Les Paul models. The resulting dark mid-range tone from the body pairs perfectly with its bright-sounding solid Ebony fingerboard.
Body: Mahogany with an Ebony finish.
Neck: Mahogany with an Ebony fingerboard, 24.75” scale length, Neck Measurements: 1st fret: Width: 1.67"-Depth: .85, 12th fret: Width: 2.08"-Depth: .96", 22 frets, Mother of Pearl inlays.
Pickups/Hardware: Three original PAF humbuckers with the bridge and middle pickups wired out of phase, Kluson Waffleback tuning keys, no wire ABR-1 bridge, lightweight aluminum tailpiece, original top hat control knobs, 2x volume/2x tone controls/3-way pickup selector, original switch tip.
Cosmetics: This 1957 Les Paul Custom is in excellent condition. It has light surface scratches and small indentations. The back of the body has some buckle rash and some other scuffs. The hardware has tarnished and is losing its gold in places. There are two screws that have been changed on the tuning keys on the back of the headstock. “Rhythm” and “Treble” have started to wear off on the pickup selector ring. Under a black light you can see where the last owner had three stickers with his initials right below the tailpiece. These stickers have since been removed. This can now only be seen under a black light. Most of the fret wear is on the bottom four strings and up to about the 7th fret. The back of the neck is in great shape with light wear that includes light scuffs and small indentations. The binding on the body is in great shape and has aged beautifully. There is a scuff in the binding on the bottom of the cutaway. (See Photos Please)
