1965 Fender Stratocaster
Summary: Few things compare to a real deal vintage Fender Stratocaster!
This Strat has been well cared for all of its life but was obviously played quite a bit….evident by the well-worn feeling neck. The neck feels incredible, the grey bottom pickups sound phenomenal and the original frets still have tons of life left in them. Our in house guitar tech just replaced a few of the stripped and rusted saddle-height-adjustment screws and intonation screws so we could get it setup just right for optimal playability, sustain
and tone. The screws are safely kept in the original case with the original pickguard. This one is a truly special instrument and is ready to be played and cherished for many years.
Body: One piece alder body with 3 tone sunburst finish.
Neck: B stamped maple neck with a veneer rosewood fingerboard, original frets, 25 ½” scale length and 1 5/8” nut width.
Pickups/Hardware: 3 original grey bottom single coils, original pots, 3 way switch, knobs and capacitor. Original Kluson Deluxe tuning machines and original Synchronized Trem with 6 bent steel saddles.
Cosmetics: This Strat is in fantastic vintage condition, there’s finish checking on the body, some small dings and dents around the body but nothing severe, some small cracks and a chip in the back plate, some foggy smudges on the upper horn that may likely be helped with some very light hand buffing (by a professional), some finish worn off the back of the neck and some rust on the saddles and bridge. Overall, this Strat is a beautiful instrument that has been well cared for over the years.
Playability: Our in house guitar tech has just inspected, setup and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functioning and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with some fret-wear from normal use but it plays beautifully up and down the fingerboard with no dead spots.
Modifications: Pickguard has been replaced but the original is included in the case. 8 of the 12 saddle height screws and 2 of the intonation screws were stripped out so we replaced them but they are also included in a bag in the case.
Weight: 7 lbs, 9 oz.
Case: This Fender comes with a vintage 1960’s black hard-shell case & we will ship it professionally packed & fully insured.
