This 1921 Gibson L4 is an incredible guitar. Loud and clear, these 12-fret L4’s have great bass response and mid range. The dynamics are incredible and the tone is sweet even when played softly. The overtones this guitar can produces are quite beautiful: when played with the right touch, it sounds as if there’s a reverb tank hidden inside. The neck has a large but comfortable V-shaped profile, a soft V but still quite pronounced. Despite its age, this guitar plays beautifully. The action is low and the frets are in great shape. No loose braces or wolf notes, this guitar has a clean bill of health. Cosmetically, the instrument is not perfect: There are scratches and dings, sections of the neck finish are worn down to the wood, and you can see the foot print of the original bridge. This guitar just celebrated its 105th birthday and it's playing better than ever. All it needs now is a new home.
