This 1997 The Heritage Eagle ASB is the workhorse of the Heritage archtop line. Handbuilt in Kalamazoo by former Gibson artisans in the old Gibson plant, the Eagle is equivalent in size to the L-5C and L-7C, and shares the same body size, scale length and bracing. A classic single pickup jazz box, the Eagle's solid carved mahogany body is unique among modern jazz guitars, and Heritage instruments were adopted by such greats as Kenny Burrell and Johnny Smith.

 

Body: Spruce top, with Mahogany back and sides in Almondburst finish.



Neck: Mahogany with a Rosewood fingerboard, 25.5” scale length, 1.68” nut width, 20 frets, pearl dot inlays.

 

Pickups/Hardware: Heritage floating pickup, Grover tuning keys, trapeze tailpiece, compensated Rosewood bridge, Mahogany pickguard, bone nut.

 

Cosmetics: This guitar is in good shape. It has light surface scratches on the body. The back of the neck is clean, with some very mild wear, and the frets show minimal wear. The back has buckle rash.. Overall, this guitar plays very well and sounds fantastic.




Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable.
